     Sydney Williams is a Rising 3L Juris Doctorate candidate at Tulane University School of Law. She was born and raised in Spring, Texas, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and International Relations from Fairfield University, where she played Division I volleyball. Last summer, She completed a clerkship with a large full-service firm and a judicial externship in the Eastern District of Louisiana. She spends the first half of her 2L summer as a summer associate at a law agency for professional athletes, entertainers, and business executives who wish to set up a legacy through estate planning and entrepreneurial ventures. And for the second half of the summer, she will work on contract disputes as a clerk with a civil litigation firm. She’ll also be traveling to Berlin to take the Negotiation & Mediation Advocacy course as part of Tulane’s study abroad program. During her 2L year, she served as the President of Tulane’s BLSA chapter, Sponsor Liaison for the Tulane Women in Sports Law Symposium. She also helped facilitate sports negotiation competitions and was a pro bono legal advocate for a clinic that provides legal services for local artists, musicians, and other cultural figures in the Greater New Orleans community. Most recently, she has gained experience as a Research Assistant for Professor Feldman, collaborating with the Tulane Center for Sport to develop the Sports Law Program curriculum. She also assisted Professor Dombalagian in a study on the law and the national market system, focusing on the brokerage industry and the nation’s capital markets. As a 3L, as a Nelson Mandela International Negotiations team member, she will be a senior member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Moot Court discipline. She will also be a Corporate Extern for the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans organizations. She will graduate in May 2024 with a Sports Law certification, and her research interests include corporate transactional practices. She enjoys cooking Creole cuisine, visiting art or history museums, fitness, and holistic wellness!
